Gwen Stefani And No Doubt Recording New Album

Gwen Stefani with No Doubt band-members have gone back to the studio to record some new music for their next album.

In a message to their fans, No Doubt stated that they have been busy working in record studios all over Los Angeles and that they dearly wanted to release their next album before the end of 2011. However, that didn't happen. They made a point about it, emphasising that they do not want to rush the album just for the sake of getting it out. It is their utmost intention to produce the best possible album they can make. In a public statement, Gwen Stefani said, "The main thing we were trying to do is write really catchy good songs. We got about 10 songs done and we want to do a few more just in case, but it's a really good record, I really love this record." 

Although this new album still remains untitled, the names of some of the songs expected on the new CD are "Undercover", "Settle Down", "Easy", "Heaven" and "Dreaming The Same Dream".

Earlier last year, No Doubt publicly commented that they were running out of ideas for their songwriting.  They even said they were "sort of desperate" and praying for some inspiration. Normally, their songwriting sessions occurred late in the day. Gwen Stefani said these sessions usually only took place between 5pm till midnight. She is very busy with her family now, caring for her children during the day, as well as putting some of her creative talent toward her fashion line L.A.M.B. which she launched in 2004.

Stefani is the first to admit that it is hard being creative, especially being creative between certain times of the day.

Lacking inspiration for her songwriting, she has taken some advice from Prince, who once told her, "Do you ever just try and write a hit song?". He obviously has been stuck at times too. Ideas will come when they are ready.

No Doubt have already won two Grammy Awards, and sold more than 35 million records worldwide.
