Grammy Nominations Announced

Adele, Bruno Mars and Kanye West Lead Nomations, Bon Iver pulls Record of the Year nom surprise Grammy Nominations Announced

Grammy nominations have arrived!

Adele and Bruno Mars are lined up to compete for the coveted album and record of the year at this year's Grammy Award show on February 12th, both with six total nominations.

Joining the pair in the Album of the Year category is the Foo Fighters's Wasting Light, Lady Gaga's Born This Way, and Rihanna's Loud.

In the Record of the Year category, a welcomed surprise was the inclusion of Bon Iver's "Holocene." Could Iver be this year's Arcade Fire? The track was later nominated for Song of the Year, and Iver also found himself up for Best New Artist against Nicki Minaj, Skrillex, J. Cole, and The Band Perry.

However, one surprise snub from the coveted two categories was the person who deserves some credit for introducing Bon Iver's Justin Vernon to the masses: Kanye West. Even though the rapper leads the pack with seven nominations, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and "All of the Lights" was omitted from Record and Album of the Year.

The primetime concert special last night, including performances by Lady Gaga, Jason Aldean and Ludacris, Rihanna, The Band Perry, and hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash leading an all-star performances of "The Message" with Common, Lupe Fiasco, LL Cool J, Melle Mel, and Scorpio joining him on stage.
