Good Charlotte Start Tour of Australia
American rock band, Good Charlotte, is headed "downunder" for their 2011 Kerrang! Relentless Tour concert tour of Australia this week. The band kicks off with their first concert in Brisbane next Friday night, 8th April. The hard rockers who released their fifth album "Cardiology" last November, are currently touring the world promoting this latest volume. Vastly different from the dance rhythm of their previous album "Good Morning Revival", their latest volume has been described as "all connected to the heart", taking them back to their pop-punk origins.
The band had the album finished about a year earlier, but they were unhappy with the final production, so they scrapped it, called in a different producer, and now the final product is one that meets their satisfaction standard. The new release has even been likened to "sound a lot like Blink-182".
The first single 'Like its Her Birthday' was pre-released on YouTube last August, with the proviso that if the video received over 100,000 views, the band would make a second track from the album available. Their loyal fans got their second track within a few short weeks, the track 'Counting the Days'.
The song "Like its Her Birthday" charted reasonably well, with its best performance occurring in the Australian charts. Hence, it is no surprise then that because of the intense "downunder" popularity, Sony Music released a Greatest Hits compilation with 16 of their best tracks from all of their albums - but the album was originally produced only for Australia. Since its release however, demand has been so great, that the Greatest Hits compilation is now available in the US and in Japan.
Generally speaking, "Cardiology" has pleased the majority of the critics, who seem pleased that the guys have restored the sound back to the original style of music of their early days. The rockers manage their good quality harmony sound for which they are renowned, blended with guitar driven choruses. Good Charlotte fans are going to enjoy this latest album.
