Gnarls Barkley Reunion Will Happen in 2014 - CeeLo Green
The 38-year-old R&B singer was recently spotted at Los Angeles International Airport by TMZ reporter, who immediately approached the star for verification of the claims being made by several media agencies. When asked if the pair is set to begin work on the follow-up to their 2008 album "The Odd Couple," Green answered in the affirmative, saying: "Yeah, like next year."
Green and Mouse founded Gnarl Barkley in 2004 and released their debut album "St. Elsewhere" two years later. Their sophomore studio offering arrived in 2008, but the duo has gone quiet since then, instead focusing on their separate, solo careers. But considering the "Fu** You!" crooner's latest comments, it seems their five-year hiatus is set to end.
However, this isn't the first time Green has led fans to believe that a reunion is coming before failing to fulfil that promise. In an interview with US Weekly in 2011, he strongly hinted that a new album is coming and even spoke of its possible theme, but nothing came of it.
Whether they make fresh music together or not, TMZ believes they will certainly perform together next year, starting at the annual Coachella Valley Music Festival.
