Glen Campbell Cancels Australia, New Zealand Tour
Legendary country star Glen Campbell has decided to cancel his music tour through Australia and New Zealand. The 76-year-old Campbell was scheduled to perform with Kenny Rogers on August 10th but decided he could not withstand "the very long flight it would require." The Rhinestone Cowboy’s rep made the announcement about the musician's health and his unfortunate cancellation, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Times.
This was the last leg of Campbell’s ‘Goodbye Tour’ after announcing his battle with Alzheimer's last year. Campbell just released his final album last summer as well entitled ‘Ghosts on the Canvas’. His farewell collection debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
It has since been confirmed that Kenny Rogers will continue on without Glen Campbell, filling the void with a slew of various artists throughout the Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour. Campbell will however return to Boston one more time to entertain his loyal fans. He plans to perform live at the Wilbur Theatre on Wednesday, October 17th alongside his wife Kim and three of his children.
