Girls Aloud Preview New Single
In more recent years, Girls Aloud’s singers have parted ways, with some starting successful solo careers. Nicola Roberts has released new material, while Cheryl Cole, this year, was poised to make her official U.S. debut. In the meantime, the girl group reunited for their 10-year anniversary and, today, teased a new single with a video clip.
The clip, which can be watched here, is less than 30 seconds long and features the girls, all wearing identical red mini-dresses, walking away from the camera toward a geometric background. However, the name and release date were not announced. As the video’s title implies, that information is expected to come by Friday.
But, with Girls Aloud’s members having solo careers of varying degrees, could a reunion be long-lasting? Likely not. According to The Guardian, the singers plan to put out a greatest hits album, do a tour, and release a single for Children In Need. An appearance on Strictly Come Dancing is also in the cards.
Girls Aloud’s last release was Out of Control, which came out four years ago and spawned “The Promise,” which won them a Brit Award. Singer Kimberly Walsh spoke about their reunion, stating: "I'm kind of flattered people actually care if we come back or not. I think we are all quite proud that we made enough of an impact to be able to a comeback."
What would you like the next Girls Aloud single to sound like? Should they stay together longer?
