George Michael Is Set to Record a Royal Wedding Song

George Michael is recording a song for the royal wedding.

The 'Faith' singer - who hasn't been short of controversy in the past - took to his twitter account to ask fans for suggestions on what song he could cover for Prince William and Kate Middleton's big day on April 29, before eventually choosing one.

George teased his followers about the name of his track of choice, saying the tune is a "perfect fit".

He tweeted: "I think I've chosen a song for William and Kate. Suffice to say it's a beautiful song and it was never a single so chances are u don't know it. (sic)"

The 'Amazing' hitmaker informed his followers that the tune was written in the 70s, adding the first word of is title is "you".

And he's not the only star to give the happy couple a musical wedding present as 'Drop it Like its Hot' rapper Snoop Dogg wrote a song, entitled 'Wet', for William's bachelor party.

However, unlike George, the American hip-hop star was prepared to give the title away.

Snoop recently told George Lopez on his chat show 'Lopez Tonight': "I wanted him [Prince William] to have a little bit of fun before he gets married. See all the girls that you gonna be able to see... and enjoy yourself."

The 'Gin & Juice' rapper - who is set to release his Doggumentary album on April 18 - also said he has a "cool little relationship" with the Queen.

It is hard to imagine the English monarch dancing around Buckingham Palace to 'Gangsta Luv', but I guess stranger things have happened.

One recent unusual occurrence was the news that Snoop and LA Galaxy soccer player David Beckham are reportedly keen on creating a baby clothing range together.

The American - who has been friends with David since 2008 - said it was great news that David and his wife Victoria are having another baby to add to their family of Brooklyn, 12, Romeo eight, and six-year-old Cruz.
