Fun. Release Six-Track Live EP From Recent Tour
Fun. shot to fame over 2012 and ’13 because of Some Nights and song “We Are Young.” That led them to go on the road, and to commemorate that first major tour experience, the band decided to put out a six-track EP.
Announced yesterday, the release is called Before Shane Went to Bangkok: Fun. Live in the U.S.A. and came out through the band’s website. Included are live versions of songs from the Most Nights tour, including from 2009’s Aim and Ignite and Some Nights.
As far as why they decided to put out the EP, Nate Ruess explained: "We never thought any of this would happen. All we ever wanted (at the time) was to continue to play the wild and crazy shows that we had grown so accustomed to at the incarnation of this group. We just thought we would pick up some more fans along the way."
He then said: "Try to remember what a great time we had. Enjoy 'WTF' . . . it's nice to see it finally catch an official light of day."
Aside from the online version, a limited-edition vinyl version of the EP comes out in March.
After Some Nights came out in 2012, the band scored a Grammy for Song of the Year with “We Are Young,” which spent multiple weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100.
