Fiona Apple Postpones Texas Concert Following Drug Arrest, Continues With Tour
After being busted for hashish and marijuana possession this past Wednesday at a border in Sierra Blanca, singer Fiona Apple postponed a scheduled Texas concert on Sept. 20th. The news that Apple would not be performing was announced on her Facebook page. "Tonight's show in Austin has been postponed. New date TBD,” the message read.
The arrest came after the artist and her crew where inspected by border police when they discovered the drugs that the singer admitted belonged to her, as confirmed by Ace Showbiz. Mugshots soon followed with word that the arrest was made “without incident.” After spending the night in jail Apple was released from Hudspeth County on $10,000 bond.
Although Apple did cancel her performance in Austin the next day, she kept to her schedule for both Friday and Saturday night where she performed in Houston followed by a concert at the Winstar Casino. During her time on stage in Houston the high strung singer shared a little about her night in jail. “The guy who runs the jail, he’s a real decent guy, I want to apologize to him for being attitude-y.”
For now it looks like Fiona Apple will continue on with her tour as planned.
