Fiction by Avenged Sevenfold
Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man.
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you.
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head.
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side.
[The Rev]
Not that I could
Nor that I would
Let it burn
Under my skin,
Let it burn.

Left this life to set me free
Took a piece of you inside of me.
Now this hurt can finally fade
Promise me you'll never be afraid.
[The Rev]
Not the I could
Nor that I would
Let it burn
Under my skin
Let it burn
I hope it's worth it, here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way when I'm not with you
So tell everybody, the ones who walk beside me, yeah
I know you'll find your own way when I'm not with you tonight
I hope it's worth it, what's left behind me, yeah
I know you'll find your own way when I'm not with you
So tell everybody, the ones who walk beside me, yeah
I know you'll find your own way when I'm not with you tonight

Limp Bizkit Complete New Album: ‘Gold Cobra’

III likee itt ..!!
The Rev wrote this because he knew he was going to die. He didn't die because of drug over dose or natural causes. He had an enlarged heart and he knew he wasn't going to live passed 30...
how do you know that?
Go look it up. He said it himself. He said that he was only sure about 2 things in his life: 1. that the band was going to be big and 2. he wasn't going to live past 30.
He did have an enlarged heart and thats how he knew.
maybe the members of A7X got together and killed him... or maybe hes not dead!!!! haha it was to get more attention and sales on the new album. haha jk but these lyrics on this site arent even correct... like a few times for example it says "know" in the lyrics when it clearly says "hope" in the song! like c'mon.
****, **** you. Why would you say something like that?
When I first heard the song I thought it was a beautifully haunting song. I cried like a baby. I didn't realize that the Rev's voice was in it until I listened to it a few more times. Now that I know that, the song takes on a much more deeper meaning.
foREVer.
I really felt the same way. It was beautiful, but when I heard more of the story it got more beautiful..
this song is just haunting all the lyrics about finding their own way without him and the song was finished 3 days before he died just haunting
I actually starting bawling in front of my friend when i heard it and she was kinda freaked out, cause I was absolutly obsessed with Jimmy, I even have his obituary on my wall. I was crying for over a week when he died. everyone will miss his amazing talents, and his fun coocky lovable personality. I wanna listen to the song again, but i dont wanna cry right now D:
R.I.P Jimmy, You did an amazing job with this song, definitely has to be my favorite one on the album.
You wont be forgotten
this song is truly amazing. i get chills listening to this song and it maes me want to cry. i absolutly adorded the rev, his humor his talent and his place in the band. this is so sad to hear his voice since he died, and this song just shows how much love he had for music. i believe this is his death song, you can just tell by the lryics. rev you will be missed by millions. love ya man, and my thoughts are out to avenged sevenfold and his family
This song is truly The Reverend's masterpiece. It sends shivers down my spines whenever I listen to it, it's incredible. Indescribable, and much much more. He always knew he wouldn't live past age 30, and sadly, he was right.
This song, and the whole album is just amazing, the amount of love and passion the Avenged Sevenfold family put into it is just immense.
James 'The Reverend Tholomew Plague' Own Sullivan will be miss by millions, inculding me. He was inspiration as a drummer and musician,
its almost like the rev knew he was gonna die so he wrote this song for the band. think about the lyrics and how that reflects on his death, pretty scary.
R.I.P JAMES (THE REV) OWEN SULLIVAN.
Sadly, he did know he was gonna die. It was a drug overdose, and so in a way it was suicide.
The drug dose wasn't the cause of his death it was his heart. He had an enlarged heart. He knew he wasn't going to live past the age of 30. His heart was the killer go look it up.
He called this his "masterpiece". It truly is.
THIS SONG IS SO **** AMAZING, JUST TO HEAR THE REV ON IT BRINGS A SHOCK THREW MY WHOLE BODY, ITS REALLY SCARY THROUGH THE LYRICS SOUND AS IF HE KNEW HE WAS GONNA DIE AND THATS WHY HE GOT THE RECORDING OF HIS VOICE PERFECT AS A GOOD BYE TO EVERY BODY, BUT HE DIDNT KNOW AND THATS WHAT MAKES THIS SONG SO MUCH LOST FOR WORDS THEN IT ALREADY WAS
R.I.P JAMES "REV" OWEN SULLIVAN (THE REVEREND THOLOMEW PLAGUE) 1981-2009 foREVer
It's sad listening to the Rev's voice and knowing this was completed after his death. It's also sad knowing that the album is amazing, but would have been 10x better with the Rev's voice in other songs too.
R.I.P. James Owen Sullivan (February 9, 1981 – December 28, 2009)
