Fascinating Insights Into Emmy the Greats Collaboration With Gareth Jones

For those of you that don't know, Gareth Jones has been producing records for over thirty years and has worked with some great artists such as Nick Cave, and Depeche Mode.

Currently, he is working on Emmy the Great's second album, and VBS.TV, have produced a fascinating film where both Emmy and Gareth share insights into working with each other and the music business.

Emmy explains her feelings on the film well, and adheres to the abilities and skills of Gareth Jones's production skills. At one point saying he was a "Maestro". Some of the key abilities the man seems to have, is to be able to defuse situations, create a good environment for creativity, and have the patience to explain concepts. So much so that Emmy described the experience as "educational".

Gareth Jones also explains how he and Emmy worked on ideas for the new record, and how at first he had difficulty implementing a darker record and yet at the same time one that had a pop feel. Jones compromised by using pop – beats as the framework for the songs. An effect Emmy seems happy with.

Gareth Jones seems to be a man completely dedicated to his craft, and to work with a man like this must be a great honour for any artist, especially a young artist such as Emmy the Great, especially when he gives praise about your lyrics and first album.

Emmy was keen to point out that the atmosphere was "good", and "the best they ever had it".
