"Fall In Love" Video Review
Melinda Jackson is a name that will easily be rolling off your tongue this Summer. The statuesque Sydney-sider is the voice behind the hauntingly beautiful Fleetwood Mac cover “Everywhere” (from Moustache) that rocketed up the ARIA charts, stayed at #1 on Dance & Indie charts for a goodly part of 2005. This success was also coupled with the track earning the accolade of Most Added to Radio and staying a
firm favourite on the airwaves, even now.
“Fall In Love” is the first single from her debut album (due mid 2007) and has been produced by local boy Sam Littlemore who is well-known in Australia for his work on Pnau & Tonite Only, (the latter enjoying massive success with their recent smash remixes for Sneaky Sound system and The Similou). Assisting him with the production of the track is none other than producer Nelly Hooper (who is recognized internationally for his work with (among others)Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani, Robbie Williams, Nelly Furtado & No Doubt)!!
The track is complimented by remixes by L’Amore and The Audio Thieves, which are joined by a smash remix from the boys of “Van She Tech” (Modular) who everyone is “Falling In Love” with both locally and internationally…
“Fall In Love” is a fun track about falling in love around the world. Picture St. Tropez, Paris, Miami & New York – fun, catchy & romantic as the amazing clip for the track proves!
Melinda is the real deal - She’s an edgy artist in the pop realm who sincerely believes in doing it the old-fashioned way – hard work, sweat & grind! She certainly isn’t a wannabe-model-turned-singer - she’s been writing, performing & singing from a very early age. Her grandfather was a famous tenor with the Australian opera & everyone in her family plays various instruments, dances & performs.
As Mel says, “My favourite thing to do from a young age was sing. I used to sing Madonna, Roxette, Whitney.i loved it. All through school I sang at concerts and in all the bands from Jazz to Pop and Rock.
That’s all I wanted to be, and I was determined from the beginning.”
She is a strong, versatile live performer and dynamic vocalist having spent much time perfecting her craft - pubs, clubs & concert halls hold no fear for this determined young woman. As part of the “Cavalcade – Reins of Fire” show last year, she performed “Everywhere” to 1,000’s across the nation as well as singing in a variety of live bands up & down the east coast, including stints with Ja Rule & Roachford.
Citing Chrissie Amphlett (The Divinyls) as a major influence, you can see Mel means business - “I love Chrissy Amphlett because she is an incredible songwriter and delivers like no other. Her energy is
amazing, she is tough and you can hear her emotion. The Divinyls made great songs... such great songs!!”
