Faith No More's Final Concert in Chile

Last Sunday night was the final concert in "The Second Coming Tour" for re-united rock band, Faith No More. The huge concert held at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida in Santiago, Chile on Sunday, December 5, was their final farewell show. Also referred to as the "Reunion Tour," the final concert was the end of their get together in more than a decade.

They played a massive set, including a cover version of The Manhattans' "Kiss and Say Goodbye." Their music is best described as a blending of funk, heavy metal, hip-hop and progressive rock.

The band started in 1983, went through various changes of band members, and broke up in 1998. At the time they released a fax: "After 15 long and fruitful years, Faith No More have decided to put an end to speculation regarding their imminent break up... by breaking up."

However, after an eleven year break, they reformed in February 2009, starting in England and then played at numerous venues around the world. They played to numerous sell-out concerts, and even considered producing one last album. However in September 2010, the band made an announcement that their Reunion Tour would finalise in December, and any plans for the new album have been cancelled. Yet despite all the "finality," bass guitarist Billy Gould still has said that the band may continue.

Gould said: "I personally can't see us not doing anymore shows again, I just don't see it. There's no point in not to do it. Why quit now? I think it's just this tour… we did this tour and that's what we decided to do. And we did it. We accomplished this goal, it worked out for all of us, and then we look at each other and say, ‘hey what do you want to do now?' And I think that's how it's got to be."
