Evanescence To Release Self-Titled Studio Album In October

Evanescence is in the process of preparing their next studio album, due for release in October, according to Amy Lee, the face of the American rock band. The new album, simply titled Evanescence, is a record about the band. When recently interviewed, Amy said, "I started thinking about it, and it's also that this whole record and the lyrical content and a lot of the things that it's about to me is about falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence, with what I've obsessed over for a decade, longer than that."

The first single that will come off the album is the track "What You Want". As yet, only a brief snippet of the song is available (below), but this short snapshot seems to be different to any other material the group has produced in the past. The sound of the guitar buzz is not unlike some busy insect resonance, and the drums thump with a simple pummel. The strings add to the orchestral presence of the track, so that the band sounds like a supergroup blasting away in an amphitheatre. "What You Want" has got all the charisma of a huge chart topping hit ... and it is not even on the market - yet.   

Another sneek peek available at the moment is the track "Lost in Paradise", which has very emotional beginnings. Initially planned as just some minor song, the more the track was developed, the more it became liked. "Paradise" now is a very special song in the hearts of all the band members.

Prior to the album's release in October, Evanescence will perform at Nashville and then Winnipeg before appearing on the World Stage at "Rock in Rio" – which is one of, if not, the largest rock festival in the world - the perfect place to launch their next release.

Evanescence, the album, will be available on October 11.
