Eminem Says He Can’t Wait to Finish ‘MMLP2’ in Live Interview
It’s rare Eminem comes out for a live interview. It’s not that he’s looking to create some enigmatic personality that makes his rhymes actually deeper than they are; rather, as a recent ESPN interview shows, he kind of chokes up on stage.
When being interviewed by Kirk Herbstreit, the “Berzerk” rapper admitted about his upcoming album: "It'll be out November 5 … I'll probably be most excited to just be done with it."
And, sort of addressing his stiff demeanor, he later explained: "Live TV freaks me out a little bit."
Going into detail a little about the release, he addressed its relationship with its predecessor, which is now 13 years old: "[The new album] is kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers LP. And that's pretty much all I can probably say about it."
“Berzerk,” the Rick Rubin-produced single put out at the end of August and the first official cut from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, has garnered a bit of attention. Its sound, something that’s rare in the current mainstream hip-hop world of Southern rappers and trap, alludes to the Beastie Boys while still sounding modern.
Although the Recovery follow-up has been talked about for the past year, the rapper didn’t actually address it himself until recently. In doing so, Eminem revealed it comes out November 5.
