Eminem’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ Leaks Six Days Early
Hardly an artist puts out a major release or single without experiencing a leak these days. Eminem’s the latest to experience this, with his long-awaited album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, surfacing online this week.
The full album could be heard early on October 29 – six days ahead of its November 5 release date. Although the songs appear to have since been taken down, HollywoodLife.com reports the rapper returns to his roots with this effort.
Although tracks like “Berzerk” have an old-school quality to them, the HollywoodLife.com review points out the rapper leans heavily on his Slim Shady alter ego and unleashes several controversial lyrics. But, save for the few singles officially released, we’ll all have to wait a few more days to hear what’s in store.
Just days before the leak, the rapper put out his latest single, a Rihanna-featuring track called “The Monster.” This track follows their hit “Love the Way You Lie” and two more collaborations added to Rihanna’s studio albums: “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” and “Numb,” from Loud and Unapologetic, respectively. The track comes after “Survival,” “Berzerk,” and “Rap God.”
If you were one of the few to hear the MMLP2 leak this week, what did you think? Is it a solid follow-up to Recovery? Or, is the rapper simply rehashing old material?
