Eminem Puts Out Rihanna Collaboration “The Monster” as Next Single
Eminem has been preparing listeners for his upcoming album with a string of singles. Before the Marshall Mathers LP 2 drops on November 5 in the U.S., his latest offering is “The Monster,” which features Rihanna.
Following “Survival,” lead single “Berzerk,” and “Rap God,” “The Monster” debuted officially on October 28 through Vevo.
The track makes one of multiple collaborations the two artists have done over the years. “Love The Way You Lie” is perhaps their most notable to date. However, since that point, the rapper appeared on “Love the Way You Lie (Part II),” from Rihanna’s Loud, and “Numb,” which came out on last year’s Unapologetic.
Although a follow-up to Recovery had been rumored for close to a year, the rapper didn’t actually announce the album until this past August. The album follows the first Marshall Mathers LP, released 13 years ago, and while he hasn’t divulged significant details, he said in a recent ESPN interview: “I'll probably be most excited to just be done with it."
MMLP2 singles hint overall at a more old-school rap sound, rather than the EDM-influenced tracks currently being played on the radio. While they might not be everyone’s taste, “Berzerk” and “Rap God” garnered a significant amount of attention. Do you think “The Monster” will? Listen to the track below:
