Emily Osment Releases New Song 'Lovesick'
Emily Osment, who rose to fame as Hannah Montana star Lilly Truscott, has just released her new single "Lovesick". The accompanying music-video shows Emily singing the song and moving like a robot in a darkened room that has lights moving around.
She said: "My entire idea for the music video was based around a robot concept, about robot love. How love is universal and all that." She thought about ideas for the music-video while she was recording the song in the studio. However, initially: "The first thing I envisioned for this [album] photo shoot was the red dress and the combat boots and that was the first thing we did," she explained. "And the hair was just massive and awesome."
Osment co-wrote the song "Lovesick" with Toby Gad and Lindy Robbins, and is one of the songs on her debut album "Fight or Flight". All the songs on the album have been written by her, with the help of established songwriters. The album has been for sale since September 2010. In the US the album debuted at number 170 on the Billboard 200 chart.
From the album, the single "Let’s Be Friends" has achieved a reasonable degree of success.
She has been involved in the entertainment industry since 1998, when she was 6 years old - getting a role in a commercial. In 1999 Osment made her acting debut for a movie, and has since gone on to do a number of roles on TV shows like "Friends" and "3rd Rock from the Sun". In 2002 she made her film debut in "Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams". She won the "Young Artist Award" for best performance in a feature film from this film.
Her music career started in 2007 while singing vocals for a Billy Cyrus song. She has also performed for a number of Disney compilations.
