Eliza Doolittle Covers Cee-Lo's F**k You
Eliza Doolittle decided to cover Cee Lo’s big 2010 hit "Fuck You". Back in September, the “Rollerblades” singer posted on her blog that it was her song of the week, and last Friday the London songbird carried out her own performance backstage. Jump below and tell us how you think Eliza’s variation complete with singers and an upright bass measures up to the genuine one.
The live recording took place in a outfitting room and obviously brings a whole new vision to the hugely catchy tune. The stand-up bass blended with Doolittle's vocals make this cover a really neat one.
For those who don't know her, Eliza Doolittle is a British pop singer mining sounds from the ’60s and ’70s, while bringing her own undeniable unique spin on pop music. Her sassy lyrics and jaunty melodies fit nicely along-side the sharp production, splicing ska, funk, jazz and soul. Her debut album, "Meet Eliza Doolittle", available November 23rd on Capitol Records brings to mind everything from the Kinks, to the Marvelettes to the Beach Boys.
