Eddie Van Halen Recovering After Emergency Surgery

Seasoned rocker Eddie Van Halen is now recovering after undergoing emergency surgery. Eddie Van Halen Recovering After Emergency Surgery

Van Halen has put the brakes on their upcoming tour after Eddie Van Halen had to undergo emergency surgery due to a “severe bout of Diverticulitis”, as confirmed by the band’s website.  The 57-year old rocker is said to be doing fine since the unexpected trip to the hospital that is rumored to be caused by inflamed or infected pockets on the walls of the intestine.  "No further surgeries are needed and a full recovery is expected within four to six months."

Other details surrounding Eddie's health issues are slim at best.  The artist has previously dealt with both hip issues and cancer over the years.  Since the news of Eddie Van Halen's surgery, the band has announced that they plan to resume their Japan tour next year.  Initially the guys were to hit the stage, going overseas this November, but without their longtime guitarist the group has decided to postpone the scheduled dates.  "The band looks forward to seeing and playing for their fans in 2013," a statement on the website shared.

As pointed out by Atlanta Music Scene, this isn’t the first time Van Halen has had to back out of a string of highly anticipated appearances.  The veteran performers just recently canceled 32 shows this past June due to problems with their schedule.
