Ed Sheeran Says He Has Written Two Songs for One Direction's Upcoming Album
Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has hinted that One Direction's next musical release could be one of his inventions. The 21-year-old musician claims that he has penned two songs for 1D's sophomore album "Take Me Home," and while "Live While We're Young" will be the disc's opening single, Sheeran says that the next in line could be the one written by him.
The "Lego House" hitmaker made the revelation in a recent interview with MTV News. He refused to disclose the songs' titles but did say: "One of them is kind of a getting-back together song. One of them is an appreciation song."
Despite being pressed again for the names, he didn't budge and simply said: "I can't say the titles. The song that I think will be the single, one of the singles, is kind of a very sweet song. It was written about the best things about someone, kind of like the things you wouldn't expect. You'll have to hear it. I can't really say too much 'cause it's their album. I want them to be the first ones to announce it and stuff."
Sheeran, who had also written for 1D's debut album "Up All Night," then revealed what inspired him into writing the two new songs for the teenage pop quintet's upcoming collection.
"The two songs that I wrote for One Direction's album are, they're the same subject matter as the last song I wrote for the last album 'cause they're from the same batch of songs. They're both about my ex-girlfriend."
Take Me Home's first song "Live While We're Young" will be released this coming Sunday, while the date for the full album release has been set at November 12.
