Duff McKagan Quashes Guns N’ Roses Super Bowl Rumours

Ex - Guns N’ Roses bass player Duff Makagan has dismissed reforming for a Super Bowl gig as “Bullshit” Duff McKagan Quashes Guns N’ Roses Super Bowl Rumours

Guns N Roses once branded themselves the most dangerous band in the world. In the eyes of their fans they could do no wrong, and sold millions and millions of albums worldwide. Now, with all but one original member sill performing in the band, speculation has been rife of a reunion to play a one off Super Bowl gig. This rumour gathered some weight due to Slash, the bands iconic lead guitarist saying he liked the idea. This has now been torpedoed by Duff Makagan, who has dismissed the idea as "bullshit".

Speaking to Rolling stone magazine in response to a question concerning the rumours, Duff Makagan said: "That's bullshit. Pure, unadulterated bullshit." Despite the profoundness of the statement, he did jokingly respond to the question what it would take for the former band members to reunite. "Seven gilded doves. I have no answer for that. I've got to come up with a good one, though. We'd need a secret clubhouse on an island."

The interview Makagan gave was honest and frank, and he also responded to questions concerning Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor joining his band Velvet Revolver. "There is no status. [Bandmate] Slash has been on tour, I'm starting a tour. But saying all that, there is no Velvet Revolver singer."

Makagans solo project Duff Mckagans Loaded plays the Download festival later in the year in Great Britain.

Going by Makagans words, the wounds in the once super group Guns N Roses run deep. Deep enough to stop a reunion for a one off gig.
