Just like sophomore album Take Care, 2013’s Nothing Was The Same turned into another hit for Drake. But one thing that puzzled fans from the time Drizzy previewed the album is, why wasn’t one of the songs in the trailer – “Trophies” – included in the final cut?

This past weekend, Drake put “Trophies” out in full through Soundcloud, along with a remix of Soulja Boy’s “We Made It.” Both came out December 29, with the former produced by Hit-Boy.

Fans who caught the rapper/singer on tour likely already heard the track, but now it’s available for the rest of the world to hear. Listen to “Trophies” here.

As to why “Trophies” didn’t make the final cut of Nothing Was The Same, Drake explained to Revolt TV: “I wouldn’t even call it a leftover, it was definitely on the album. I’m not a just-throw-it-together kind of guy. I had two hooks on there, I started sending it around and as great of a job that other people did, it didn’t sound right if I wasn’t on the hook. I always like to do my own hooks for the sake of my performances, I don’t like being off a hook because I can’t really give you the moment if someone else is doing [it].”
