Dolly Parton Addresses Lesbian Rumors - Again!
After all these years, Dolly Parton is offended that people still believe that she and her best friend, Judy Ogle, are secret lovers despite the fact that Parton has been married for 46 long years.
She explains that she and Ogle have been friends since elementary school and that she loves her dearly but that doesn’t mean that they are romantically linked.
The country star likens it to the problems Oprah Winfrey and her best friend, Gayle King, have in the media. Both sets of ladies deny being lovers but the media just can’t seem to let the matter drop.
Although, she quick to defend her marriage to her husband, Carl Dean, Parton is equally adamant about the fact that members of the gay community should be accepted and she loves all of her fans, straight or otherwise. She sums it up best by saying: “That's not my place to judge. I ain't God, and I ain't runnin' for office!"
Fans who have come to appreciate her signature wisdom and humor will be excited to know that she’s written a book based on the commencement speech she gave at the University of Tennessee back in 2009. Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You hits shelves this week.
