DJ Pauly D to Sign With G-Unit

In probably one of the most interesting music moves of the year, DJ Pauly D, the Italian “guido” famous for being on the MTV hit show Jersey Shore, has confirmed that he is planning to sign a three-album deal with 50 Cent’s G-Unit records. The deal will include a custom headphone line created by the reality star, as well. Pauly D, whose real name is Paul DelVecchio, was rumored to be in cahoots with the G-Unit crew since the spring.

During an interview with XXL Magazine, Pauly D gave nothing but good words about his new boss, saying, “50 Cent has been somebody I look up to. We ended up linking up and we just clicked. We hit it off immediately with the music and everything like that. So, I’m definitely gonna be working with him.”

The buck isn’t just stopping at G-Unit’s doors for DJ Pauly, either. Besides rubbing shoulders with Britney and Nicki as an opener for Spears’ Femme Fatale tour, he has also confirmed that he will get his own MTV spin-off show. Although it is unsure what the premise of the show will be, Pauly said to XXL that it may document his rise through the ranks of the disc jockey world, thanks to the Jersey Shore.

“It’ll be probably along the lines of, I used to be this DJ in Rhode Island, DJing two sets a week, hustling, promoting and all of a sudden, I’m on this show, and now they’re sending private jets for me to DJ for these huge crowds, yet I’m still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people, just loving life.”
