DJ Pauly D Signs to 50 Cent Label G-Note
Although primarily a reality television personality, Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D is attempting to forge a music career. Opening to part of Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour was certainly a boost, and in recent months, DJ Pauly D has been speaking of signing with 50 Cent’s label G-Note. The deal is now official. 50 Cent confirmed it on Twitter with a picture and the following message: “This me and my boy @djpaulyd G NOTES newest addition good times.”
The Jersey Shore cast member wrote: "Big Big Things In The Works @50cent And @DJPaulyD !!!!!"
About working with 50 Cent, Pauly D has said: "I'm focusing on music. That's my passion. I'm working with 50 Cent now. I'm gonna do an album with him. It's going to be a little bit of everything. It's almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta but my own DJ Pauly D style."
In an interview with XXL, he elaborated: "50 Cent has also been somebody I look up to. We ended up linking up and we just clicked. We hit it off immediately with the music and everything like that. So I'm definitely gonna be working with him. There's been talks about the album and the headphones. I'm looking forward to working with that as well."
Opening for Britney Spears might be Pauly D’s first break from just being a reality TV star. At the time, he told MTV: "What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it's an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career. And it's just fun being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she's performing. I love it. I couldn't ask for more."
Pauly D is rumored to be opening for the “Criminal” singer on the final date of the Femme Fatale world tour. Beyond just being an opening act, the up-and-coming DJ is doing a residency at Las Vegas club Rain at the Palms Resort and Casino and recently had an app, DJ Pauly D – Beat That Boardwalk, launched through MEDL.
