"Divinations" Video Review
"Divinations" is the first single and second track from Mastodon's fourth studio album "Crack the Skye".
The music video depicts the band, minus Brent Hinds, as explorers on a snowy mountain. It shows them climbing, observing old artifacts, and also cuts to flashbacks in what seems to be the stone age. "We’re climbing a mountain looking for a creature named Brent," guitarist Bill Kelliher told HeadbangersBlog.com. "We were mountaineers - explorers, like in John Carpenter’s 'The Thing’."
The clip was helmed by director Roboshobo (a.k.a. Robert Schober; Metallica's "All Nightmare Long") who previously worked with Mastodon on the "Sleeping Giant" video.
