Dido Reveals Birth Of Baby Boy Stanley

Singer Dido has revealed that she gave birth to a baby boy this past July.  Five months ago the forty year old brought home her newborn Stanley from London’s Portland Hospital, keeping the family’s new arrival quiet, per Rolling Stone.

It wasn't until now that Dido, and her husband Rohan Garvin, decided to share the news of their son’s birth publicly via Twitter.  Dido shared her excitement days ago, just before Christmas.

“I wanted to wish you all a very happy Christmas. I'm ridiculously excited about Stanley's first Christmas this year.”

This past February the singer had first broke the news of her pregnancy after she had canceled her schedule performance at the Oscar Awards.  Since, news surrounding her pregnancy has been sparse up until now.

As pointed out by several news outlets, Dido has named her son Stanley.  Done on purpose, or merely a coincidence, back in 2000 Dido had collaborated with Eminem on the hit song ‘Stan’ that follows a depressed, obsessed, and drunk fan of the rapper’s.  The titular character attempts to commit suicide.

The song, which was somewhat of a stepping stone for Dido’s career, landed at #15 on VH1's list of the greatest hip hop songs of all-time.  The track was also recently listed as the #2 greatest songs out of 100 songs performed by Eminem, according to Complex Magazine.

Dido’s most recent musical work is the song ‘If I Rise’, a collaboration between the singer and A.R. Rahman.  The song was featured in the movie '127 Hours' that was directed by Danny Boyle, starring James Franco.
