Gradually, the details for Lady Gaga’s upcoming studio album are being unveiled – and in a less direct fashion. The latest tidbit? The title of the release. While the Mother Monster indicated that it would officially be revealed in September, she could be hinting at it in a picture linked through her social networking website, LittleMonsters.com.

Currently on tour with the Born This Way Ball, Gaga, at the end of last week, linked to a picture of a recent tattoo. A caption reading “New ink new album” accompanied the image of her arm. Upon it was word “ARTPOP.”

The new release, through another furtive update, is expected before spring 2013.

A track, called “Princess Die,” has been part of a few Born This Way Ball tour setlists. At the moment, the track, a piano ballad, may or may not make it onto the album. During the Melbourne, Australia date at the end of June, she told the crowd about the track: “I wrote it a little while ago and I've never ever played it for anyone. I'm going to play it because, actually, I've been really excited and impressed with how many super fans have been at every show. I truly feel it would be a disservice to all of you to not play it before I leave."

Gaga went onto describe “Princess Die” as: "a little bit sad [but it ] is in no way reflective of the rest of the music on the album … but it's about some of the most deep and personal thoughts I've ever had."

The follow-up to Born This Way is expected to be less mature, but could the diverse range of sounds and songs be maintained? What do you think the singer’s third studio album should sound like?
