Did Kanye West Record His Next Album in Florence?
Kanye West is no stranger to recording across the globe. Press surrounding Watch the Throne, his collaborative album with Jay-Z, emphasized their secrecy and care to keep all music under wraps before the album release, with tracks recorded in hotel rooms all over the world. Then, Yeezus, last year’s critically-acclaimed hit, had been recorded in Paris.
Now, HotNewHip-Hop.com has been speculating that Kanye West has been recording his next album in Florence. Based on a translated Italian news source, La Nazione, it looks as if the rapper was taking in the city’s culture and style while putting together a follow-up to Yeezus. Translated, he told the Italian press: "Yes, here in the silence of the countryside, when I finish watching fabrics, embroidery and clothes that are like sculptures to me, pick me because I'm composing an album Made in Florence."
However, some speculate that statement “Made in Florence” doesn’t just apply to where the album was recorded but also the title. We’ll have to wait and see.
The “Black Skinhead” rapper has been spending time in Italy to get ready for his marriage to Kim Kardashian. The ceremony is scheduled for May 24th. Reports say because some of the guests don’t want to be recorded, that E! will only show clips and excerpts during Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Yeezus dropped in June 2013, debuting on top of the Billboard 200. The release has since went gold and netted West a Grammys nomination for Best Rap Album.
