Demi Lovato Teams Up With Missy Elliott and Timbaland
Demi Lovato rose to fame after starring opposite the Jonas Brothers in the much-watched original Disney musical, Camp Rock. Of course, a sequel followed and Lovato got her own television show on the network, Sonny with a Chance.
Unfortunately, as is too often the case in Hollywood, Lovato began to experience some challenges in her personal life and, after a serious altercation which ended with her punching a dancer on tour, she entered rehab for emotional issues, self-mutilation and an eating disorder. It was later revealed that Lovato had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.
It’s been a summer of rebuilding for the young singer/actress. After leaving the rehabilitation facility, she released a new album, Unbroken, which contains the track, “Skyscraper,” Lovato’s first top 10 Billboard debut. While support from peers and fans has been largely there, she has not gone without criticism. Healthy eating is a major part of overcoming an eating disorder and Lovato’s fuller figure has sparked debates all over the internet. The singer continues to say that she is focused on being healthy, rather than being thin.
Clearly, Lovato is working hard to get a fresh start and her collaboration with Missy Elliott and Timbaland could not be further from the music she produced with Disney. “All Night Long” will be the second single from Lovato’s Unbroken album and, even though it hasn’t been released yet, it’s already being touted as the perfect fall party anthem. In an interview with MTV, Lovato explained: "It's about staying up all night long and singing it to the boy that you like, and it's flirty and fun and it's not too grown-up, but it's grown-up enough."
“All Night Long” officially drops September 20, 2011.
