David Cook's 'The Last Goodbye' Music Video
Winner of 2008 "American Idol", David Cook, has just premiered the music video for the first single to be pre-released from his forthcoming new album. The single 'The Last Goodbye' has been available for about a month now, and the music video is out to promote the single even further.
Commenting on the planning and the theme of the clip, David said that it would have been easy to show a film of just the band playing the song. However, he wanted to something that he thought would be a lot more fun.
In the clip, he headlines the local newspaper with "David Cook Feared Drowned". To add more believability to the paper's story, David's jacket, bag and wallet have been found washed up on the shore. The headline and the washed up personal items lend credibility to his demise. The general public can only think he has drowned. Unknowingly, in the video we see that David has spent the entire day in his room on his return from the beach. And David has no idea that the public in general is deeply concerned for him and his whereabouts.
"The Last Goodbye" is one of the new tracks on his sophomore album "This Loud Morning" which will be available in the US at the end of June.
On May 24 (in the US) David Cook will be returning to his old stamping ground of "American Idol" to perform live on the show. This time he will be singing the song made famous by Simple Minds, 'Don't You (Forget About Me)'.
