Dave Grohl Comments On The Foo Fighters And The Music Industry

The Music Industry Is Like It Always Has Been: People Are Always Happy To Buy Good Records Dave Grohl Comments On The Foo Fighters And The Music Industry

Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters front-man) said, "We think we suck". Commenting on how they all feel about their band, Dave said that they are just a simple band, and that they still feel like the same "five dorks" who toured in a van almost 20 years ago. He added that they try really hard to make good records and that they practise.

Just recently he was asked about the year just gone, and he said, "It's been a good one, 2011 was very good to me. I was at a New Year's Eve party and someone asked me how was my year, and I said I honestly think 2011 was the best year of my entire life, and I actually meant it."
Talking about the current music climate at the moment, he thinks that there is a lot of mediocre over-produced stuff in the market. He further explained that if there were more good albums like Adele's 21, then the music industry  "would be on fire".

Generally, the music industry is experiencing poor record sales. Dave Grohl reckons that the lacklustre sales are only due to the low quality products on the market. He believes that people everywhere are always happy to buy great albums - especially Adele's 21 album, about which he said, "It's an amazing record and everybody's so shocked that it's such a phenomenon. I'm not. You know why that record's huge? Because it's f*%king good and it's real."

And when asked if he thought rock'n'roll is on its way out, he has very fixed ideas, and said, "It's never gone away in my world."

The Foo Fighters are returning to the studio soon to start working on another album as a follow up to their 2011 release Wasting Light.
