Dave Grohl Collaborating With Ratt Band-Members

Foo Fighters are planning to venture into the recording studio for another new album in 2012 following last year's release of Wasting Light. Even though the dust hasn't yet settled from their worldtour, and this year's Grammy Awards haven't been handed out, the Foo Fighters are already back busy doing what they do best.

Front-man Dave Grohl has been part of numerous collaborations in the past, and right now he is working with vocalist Stephen Pearcy and guitarist Warren De Martini. Both of these musicians are (or were) members of  US heavy metal band Ratt, a group which had significant success back in the 1980s. The band, Ratt, is claimed to have started up the hard rock and glam metal scene in Los Angeles in the 1980 era.  In 2010 they released their 7th studio album, Infestation, which had reasonable chart success, but currently the band-members are on an indefinite hiatus working on other projects.  

Dave Grohl is working with these guys, but has not made any comments. All the information about the collaboration has come from numerous tweets. Stephen Pearcy tweeted, "Warren and I are recording an original song (Grohl song idea open to Ratt madness). Not for a Ratt record. We'll let (Dave) tell you about it when he's ready." Pearcy also posted a photo of himself and De Martini with Grohl, as proof that the collaboration did happen.

To add to Dave Grohl's list of collaborations, Dave appeared alongside The Muppets in their 2011 movie. Dr Teeth and the other puppet characters publicly stated how much they enjoyed working with the Foo Fighters front-man. In a released statement, Dr Teeth said, "You may find this hard to believe but it is most certifiably true. My man Dave, aka the Grohl-man, is one very peaceful dude. Absotively non-violent. The Gandhi of rock'n'roll. And to my knowledge he never actually fought a Foo."
