"Conspiracy Of The Gods" Video Review

This video, from Trans Am's Sex Change, is another storytelling video, but it avoids the bathos that makes these videos so ridiculous most of time. The clip is about a couple who steals money from a bookie (played by the always-greasy Neil Hamburger), but it doesn't tell the story from beginning to end. Key pieces are left out of the narrative, which jumps forward and backward in time, even within the same cut. In other scenes, one part of the action is slowed down while other parts remain at normal speed. So the viewer gets the sense, but no understanding, of what's happening here. The video was directed by Ben Hansford.
