Collaborations Revealed for Upcoming Britney Spears Album
In a recent Q&A session on Twitter, Britney Spears assured fans she is hard at work on her upcoming album, a follow-up to 2011 release Femme Fatale. Outside of Twitter, Spears’ representative spoke with Entertainment Weekly at the end of last week regarding progress on the album, including who the pop star is in the studio with.
Most notably, out of all collaborations, is Hit-Boy, the producer best known for producing Kanye West and Jay-Z’s hit “Ni**as in Paris” from Watch the Throne and Kendrick Lamar’s “Backseat Freestyle.”
Another collaborator is more familiar: Will.i.am. The Black Eyed Peas member currently finishing up his own solo release recently collaborated with Spears on hit track “Scream & Shout.”
Aside from these two, the rep shot down any association with Elijah Blake. If you can recall, the songwriter who previously worked with Rihanna and Usher claimed he was in the studio with Spears and further mentioned she was working with producer Rodney Jerkins, who was behind Justin Bieber’s hit “As Long As You Love Me.”
The album, on which Spears claims to be working hard, is still in the planning stages, the rep informed Entertainment Weekly.
Aside from the status of her album, Spears’ association with the X Factor also appears up in the air. Although she previously mentioned returning to the talent competition as a judge for the third season, rumors have been circulating that the pop star was fired. Judge L.A. Reid is additionally not returning to the show’s third season.
