The Amnesty International Organization, that values and is active in the fight for human rights, will be hosting their Secret Policeman's Ball this coming March. In celebration of free speech, the big event will also include some well-known names from the entertainment world according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Set to attend is none other than Coldplay, Russell Brand, who is notorious for speaking his mind, Mumford and Sons, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and more.
After announcing that they plan to be a part of the organization’s big event, Chris Martin of Coldplay shared his support. “We have followed and supported Amnesty International - and the amazing work they do around the world in the field of human rights – for years, and it is a pleasure to be asked to contribute to such an inspiring event."
The Amnesty Ball will not only raise awareness, but money as well, and will take place on March 4th. Discussing Amnesty International’s big night, Lily Sobhani, executive producer of the ball, has made an announcement in regards to the musical guests and comedic acts.
“The Secret Policeman’s Ball has a long and hilariously off-color history of using comic genius to fight for free speech and human rights around the world. We are thrilled that the leading lights of comedy and music are coming together to bring the Secret Policeman’s Ball to the United States for the first time.”
The celebration of free speech with Coldplay, Brand, and more will be held in New York City at the Radio City Music Hall.
