Coldplay's Paradise Music Video Released

Coldplay has released the music video for their song Paradise.  The track is the second single from the group’s fifth upcoming studio album Mylo Xyloto that will hit shelves on October 24^th.

Lead singer Chris Martin tweeted the news that the Paradise video had been released, a video that features plenty of elephant love.  “Here it is, folks - the brand new video for Paradise.”  The music video was filmed in different locations in South Africa, such as the Karoo, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.  The beauty of the landscape was a reported key factor in Coldplay’s decision to shoot there.

The Paradise music video was directed by Hype Williams, who first worked with the band back in 2008 on their title track to their last album Viva La Vida.  Per Coldplaying, Martin shared that the guys decided to reunite with Williams once again after the success of their first collaboration.  "We're just following the things we love.  The video we did before, for 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall,' we did with our friend Mat [Whitecross], who is the most indie of indie filmmakers. It's just nice when you can try both approaches."

Coldplay’s Martin also confirmed what Paradise is about.  "Paradise is about a girl really, the female half of the album, just about being a bit lost in the world and escaping through fantasy."

The video is interestingly strange and features an escaped elephant, gorgeous scenery, and the Coldplay members all gathering by the songs end.  In short, loyal fans may fall in love, but those that aren’t, might just tune Paradise out. "We felt like so many people have already made up their minds about us ... both good and bad," Martin said. "That we can sort of start again from scratch and try and reflect all the music we listen to and love."
