Cold Weather Keeps Miley Cyrus in Check on New Year's Eve

The former Disney star was sick so she kept it simple in her year-ending performance at Times Square. Cold Weather Keeps Miley Cyrus in Check on New Year's Eve

Bad press couldn't tame her, her critics couldn't tame her, but cold weather surely did. We're talking about pop star Miley Cyrus here, who wasn't her usual self during her performance on the New Year's Eve at Times Square.

After her antics in 2013, the fans expected the 21-year-old songstress to end the year with another band and give them some more bizarre things to talk about. But instead, Miley arrived for her brief two-song performance in a very unMiley-like fashion.

The twerking was absent, the wrecking balls were missing, and on top of it, her entire body was covered with clothing with just the midriff area exposed. But if you're thinking she may be going mellow now that 2013 has ended, you are wrong.

The driving factor behind this rather subdued performance was that the New York City is quite chilly these days, and Miley was feeling it. In short, it was too cold for her to pull off stunts that she usually does for fun.

Earlier in the day, she had told her more than 16 million fans on Twitter: "This cough/cold is not a good combo. please keep praying for me. If I can just get thru tonight I can have a nice lil break."

Despite not being that much fun, her music was top notch. The two songs she sang were "Adore You" and "Wrecking Ball." Check out the whole performance in the video clip down below.
