Ciara Lashes Out Against Her Record Label

"Gimmie Dat" Causes Financial Woes For Ciara When Record Company Refuses To "Gimmie Some" Ciara Lashes Out Against Her Record Label

American R&B singer Ciara is setting he story straight about all the rumours that she is "on the verge of being dropped" by Jive Records. She has revealed all about her desperation to finish up with her record label, and has gone to her Facebook page to explain her side of the story.

She has stated that no financial support has been forthcoming from the record label prior to the release of her single 'Gimmie Dat' - the third single to be pre-released from her latest studio album "Basic Instinct". Ciara revealed that she personally paid for all costs of the song as well as the promo. Feeling totally unsupported by her record company, she has specifically asked to be freed from her contract so that she can get on with her life and music career.

The 'Goodies' star wrote, "This week the net has been a buzz of the rumour that I have been dropped from my label. At this point that rumour is false... It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me... The past two albums have been very frustrating for me."

She continued, "At times there were songs I chose to lead a project and I was ignored! This project, I even tried to get Gimmie Dat started. I spent tens of thousands of my own money only to hear the radio PDs tell me my label didn't want the song played. I even spent more than one hundred thousand dollars out of my pocket on the video to bring my vision to it and still no label support. I do understand that some labels are not financially supporting their artists and I have become one of them."

Yet last year she earned a Grammy Nomination for the single 'Love Sex Magic' with Justin Timberlake.
