Christina Perri Releases Debut Album 'Lovestrong'

American singer/songwriter, Christina Perri, smashed the charts last year with her song Jar of Hearts, a track that went ballistic after it was featured on US version of So You Think You Can Dance. Now Christina has released her much awaited debut album Lovestrong.

Following the issuing of this album in May, a deluxe edition was released, but sold only via Perri's website. The deluxe version contains the Deluxe Edition CD (with 3 bonus songs), a 24 page booklet showing exclusive photographs, a limited edition Lithograph, a Lovestrong tank-top, a Lovestrong tote bag, exclusive access to stream the album 72 hours before the official release of the album, and an mp3 download of Arms the second single to come off the album. The response has been tremendous with the album debuting at number 4 on the US Billboard 200 selling over 58,000 copies in the first week.

Her first release, "Jar of Hearts", was featured on Glee (Season 2, Episode 20 "Prom Queen") on May 10 this year in the US, and this wide promotion has stimulated more interest in the song again. Prior to this point in time, over 2 million copies of the track had already been sold. Since Glee, the song has gone platinum.

Christina has also launched an interactive website in Australia with the aim of "helping to ease heartbreak". Called the "Jar of Hearts website" www.jarofhearts.com.au, it is a place where users can upload their story of heartbreak and "virtually place their heart in a jar". Readers can follow the sad tale, and then offer advice or give sympathy or just pass on a kind word. The ultimate aim is to set the broken heart free.
