Christina Aguilera Not Fired From "The Voice"
Rumors have been flying all over the place about Christina Aguilera being fired from NBC’s hit show, The Voice. It seemed surprising since, despite her turbulent year, she appeared to pull things together and was very effective on the show.
After speculation about the singer’s future on the show got out of hand, NBC Executive Vice President, Paul Telegdy, offered an official statement: “There is absolutely no truth to the rumor." To further prove that talk of Aguilera’s firing is baseless, it has been clarified that she, along with co-judges Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, is under contract for the second season of the competition.
The premiere is set for February 5, 2012 following the Super Bowl. It’s definitely in the show’s best interest to follow the most televised football game of the season but do viewers really want to be reminded of how badly Aguilera fumbled the lyrics to the national anthem last year? Time will tell.
