Chris Brown Gets High and Raunchy on New Single “Wildcat”
While his sixth studio album X is still delayed, Chris Brown continues to put out new material. The latest is song “Wildcat” – essentially an ode to getting high and getting raunchy.
The new song comes at the heels of another track – “Loyal.” For this single, Brown’s team put out two versions: A West Coast single featuring Lil Wayne and Too $hort, and an East Coast version with the Cash Money rapper and French Montana.
Although due by November, X still has yet to hit stores. The album started experiencing delays in the middle of 2013 – originally intended for July, then pushed to August, and again delayed to November. The album didn’t drop, and Brown instead put out a mixtape titled X Files. X has since been pushed to 2014, but a release date has not been specified.
X is supposedly the singer’s last album. Originally called Carpe Diem, the new title commemorates the pop star’s 10 years in the music industry and has since been changed to a double-disc format – with 10 tracks on each disc.
Singles began dropping since late 2012, with “Nobody’s Perfect” giving X some buzz. “China Doll” was the first official single, reaching No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. From there, “Don’t Think They Know,” featuring vocals from Aaliyah, and “Love More,” with Nicki Minaj, followed.
