Chris Brown Erupts on Twitter, Deletes Account
Chris Brown and Rihanna were once the prince and princess of the pop industry and seemed destined to follow the path of Jay-Z and Beyoncé but their romance ended in a dramatic set of events. Few know the exact details about what happened on February 8, 2009 but it ended with Rihanna being treated for bruises and lacerations at a Los Angeles hospital and Brown turning himself in to the LAPD and being charged with felony assault and uttering threats.
It’s been a long road to recovery for both of them since then. Rihanna has managed to recover and reinvent herself but Brown’s journey has been a bit more intense. He has had to overcome backlash from his fans, being denied travel visas due to his criminal record (which prevented him from honoring some tour dates) and his own temper. On March 22, 2011, he clashed with Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts after performing his hit song "Yeah 3x." She asked him about the incident with Rihanna and Brown allegedly became violent in his dressing room during a commercial break. Reports indicate that he even threw an object at a window and damaged it. Following the incident, Brown tweeted: "I'm so over people bring this past s**t up!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for there[sic] bulls**t." The comment was quickly deleted.
Now, he’s had another Twitter meltdown and, this time, he has closed his account. One of his followers brought up the fact that Brown was charged with attacking Rihanna and singer had a predictably enraged response. Some tweets included:
“I don't say s**t to anybody and everyone feels its cool to attack me. GROWN ADULTS!!!! that s**t happened three years ago!”
“I know alot of you wack @ss(OLD) celebrities probably wanna f**k my ex but talking s**t on me wont get u far.”
“MY MUSIC DOESNT PROMOTE VIOLENCE nor will it ever! only thing it will increase is the pregnacy rate!”
Unfortunately, all this does is cement the idea that he cannot control his temper which further damages his reputation. It’s true that it has been almost three years and it’s easy to see why having it brought up is frustrating but celebrities endure personal attacks all of the time. Most of them learn how to handle it with class. Hopefully, the same will become true for Chris Brown.
