Chris Brown Cancels Guyana Concert After Protests

The R&B singer has not won over his Guyanese fans after his 2009 assault on Rihanna. Chris Brown Cancels Guyana Concert After Protests

Chris Brown was all set to headline a stadium show in Guyana on December 26, 2012 but those plans have been scrapped.  Incredibly, the singer pulled out of the performance due to concerns over protesting in the area.

What were the locals protesting?  Well, Chris Brown.

It seems that music fans in Guyana have not gotten past Breezy’s 2009 beating of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna and they made their objections very well known.

The loudest complaints came from women’s rights groups and opposition lawmakers.  If nothing else, Breezy definitely knows how to take a hint.  Concert promoters, Hits & Jams Entertainment, officially announced that he backed out of the show.

It’s been three years since the attack occurred and Brown has made some effort to repair his image, completed community service and attending counseling sessions.  It seems that he and Rihanna have also patched things up.

It’s unclear, though, when or if his efforts will earn him forgiveness throughout the world.
