Chris Brown and Rihanna Collaboration Will See The Light of Day
“Birthday Cake” might have been a raunchy affair, but it netted Chris Brown and Rihanna a hit. Because of this, it was surprising last month when a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com that Brown was doing all he could to get their latest effort together off his upcoming album X.
But – and this, really, all depends on the state of the singers’ on-again-off-again relationship – perhaps Brown is on better terms with the “Stay” pop star these days or record execs had their way. Reported in The Mirror, their latest collaboration – which has yet to be named – has been given a go.
Rather than giving a direct statement, the “China Doll” singer tweeted a list of collaborators that will appear on X: Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Kelly Rowland… and Rihanna!: "New album features @NICKIMINAJ, Kendrick, @rihanna, @KELLYROWLAND, @wizkhalifa, @bobatl and more surprises to come. X."
So, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the results are for “Birthday Cake, Part II.”
Previously, a source had told HollywoodLife.com that, after seeing the tracklist for X, Brown’s collaboration with Rihanna was missing. This was after the “Turn Up The Music” singer confirmed earlier in 2013 it would be included. The source said last month: "Just saw the working track list for ‘X’ yesterday — Rihanna is not on there. Record execs wanted that song on there, but Chris said he would rather not and wouldn’t allow the record to be released unless they took it off."
