Cher Lloyd Announces Sophomore Album Title
The title of Cher Lloyd’s debut, Sticks + Stones, stylized her as a tough girl who can take anything – but, within the U.S., as someone who’s a bit vulnerable and still “Want[s] U Back.” But the title of her upcoming sophomore release indicates she’s a bit apologetic.
The “Swagger Jagger” singer revealed her sophomore release is called Sorry, I’m Late, and while the U.S. is still getting used to Lloyd, the title might be for her British fans, who have waited two years for a follow-up. She explained in a recent interview: "[The title] has two meanings. It's been a long time since I've actually done anything new… I mean, I've spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out who I am. Lloyd went onto explain the secondary meaning: "[It] basically sums up all the music too, you know, it's been a long time and here it is and I'm really sorry that it's a little late."
Single “I Wish,” featuring T.I., leads in the album. Although the track has since debuted in the radio, its proper digital release doesn’t occur until early November in the U.S. and U.K. Following the announcement of the single, Lloyd went on a brief U.S. tour last month, with Fifth Harmony supporting.
