Cher-Lady Gaga Collaboration To See Light of Day
Work on Cher’s upcoming studio album began in 2010. She revealed the news while promoting Burlesque, and recording has since continued. Around this time last year, the singer recorded a track from Lady Gaga, called “The Greatest Thing,” and the song was expected to drop by the end of the year. Since then, no music has appeared from the “Believe” singer, but the album will still come out – by Christmas, according to a recent update.
On July 29, Cher revealed the news through Twittter, explaining that the album – her 26th – is scheduled for the end of 2012. And, “The Greatest Thing” will be on it – although it won’t be the first single. While Cher has not mentioned the title of the first single, the track is to come out in October – contrary to earlier reports, when she informed fans the initial track would appear in September. Talking about the track, she said: “Finished Song!I LOVE IT! Cant tell names of songs cause Record CO. gave Strict ORDERS ! THINK 1st Single drops Oct. then cd near Xmas”
Following up this news, Cher discussed who else has contributed songs to her upcoming effort. Of those are Pink and Timbaland, the latter of whose songs she recorded recently. She explained: “Doing Timbaland's song 2nite,its GREAT,but High! Pink's 2 Songs 2wks”
Somewhat confirming the inclusion of “The Greatest Thing,” she followed up her tweets with: “think ALL SONGS R Great so Far& I'm not Big Fan!GREAT Writers!GAGA IS MAJOR&Her VOCAL IS AMAZING!KUK Heard TGTLast nite 4 1st Time & FREAKED”
