Charges Dropped Against Justin Bieber in Assault Case
After leaving a movie theater with his then girlfriend, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber got into a confrontation with the paparazzi. The incident took place in suburban Calabasas on May 27, 2012.
Following the encounter, a photographer filed a complaint with the police, alleging that Bieber had kicked and punched him while prosecutors asked the authorities to consider filing a misdemeanor battery charge against the singer.
During the course of the investigation, no visible injuries were found on the photographer and there were no pictures or video of the alleged attack (which is highly suspicious given the fact that they were surrounding by paparazzi). A doctor who examined the photographer observed only superficial injuries.
Additionally, no one corroborated the photographer’s story but some pointed out that the man was still able to take pictures of the couple as they left the parking lot.
In light of this lack of evidence, the judge decided to drop the charges against Justin Bieber.
