Casey Abrams Makes Music Video Debut for "Simple Life"
Over a year since his elimination from American Idol, quirky contestant Casey Abrams releases his first music video, for the track “Simple Life”. The song is off of his self titled album, which was released on June 26 earlier this year.
Casey stood out from the crowd on the tenth season of Idol with his jazzy and bluesy artistry. His humorous and adorable stage presence made him a fan favorite and left many anticipating his music career after his departure from the show. His track “The Simple Life” shows Casey in his element, singing cool and laid back tunes.
He describes the origin of the song, “I wrote this with [producer-songwriter] Toby Gad, and I remember sitting in my hammock, rocking back and forth and realizing that how fun it is just looking up at the sky. So that week, I went to Toby's little studio in the hills and he started playing this bass line on the piano. I was like, ‘Oh my god, that reminds me of that good time on that hammock.’ We were talking about how nice [it is] to put down technology for a second and just look outside."
The music video matches the vibe of the song perfectly and is exactly the kind of record we would expect from Casey!
In an interview with the L.A. Times, Casey was asked if he felt any nerves about the release of his album. The California native responds, “Yeah, I'm a little worried. But I’m happy where I am at this moment in time and who is noticing me and what my music is sounding like. I’m very content with what’s going down right now. I’ll be honest: I’m a tiny bit worried that maybe people will get bored. But hopefully I can connect with some people.”
He also said he wants to prove to all his loyal fans that he still has his “mojo” and hopes to make them proud.
